Shanghai diesel engine co., LTD., is formerly known as Shanghai diesel engine factory, founded in 1947, restructured as state-owned holding company to publish A and B shares  in domestic and overseas in 1993 .  Now it is affiliated to SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, which is engaged in the engine and spare parts with state-level technology center, postdoctoral workstation, international first-class automatic production lines and passenger car standard quality management system.

In nearly 70 years of development,  the products are all over the world.  It mainly has seven big series Diesel and Gas Engine:  R, H, C, D, E, G, W,  which power range is from  50  to 1600 kw power, mainly used in engineering machinery, trucks, buses, power generation equipment, ships, agricultural machinery, and other fields.  The company always focus on customer's need,  make "five vertical and seven horizontal" road net as the backing, and built 15 districts, 5 distributor centers ,more than 300 core service satation, more than 2000 "2S" sales and service support system.
